Masao Goya was born on May 13, 1930, in Hakalau, Hawaii County, Hawaii. He was the son of Jiro Goya and Kama Goya. He served in Company B, 19th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, as a Corporal and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

Cpl Goya was Killed in Action on March 8, 1951, in South Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
