Kenichi Hamaguchi was born on May 5, 1925, in Los Angeles County, California. He was the son of Kakuzō and Tameno Sumi Hamaguchi. He served in the Headquarters Company, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a Private First Class and Supply Clerk during the Korean War.

PFC Hamaguchi was Killed in Action on August 12, 1950, in North Korea. He is now buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, USA.
