Akira Albert Ishimoto was born on May 12, 1923. He served in Company I, 3rd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a Sergeant and Light Weapons Assault Infantryman during the Korean War.
Sgt Ishimoto was Killed in Action on August 11, 1950, in North Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
