Masayuki Kihara was born on June 28, 1931. He served in the 7th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, as a Private First Class and Heavy Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

PFC Kihara was Killed in Action on September 15, 1952, in North Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
