George M. Kumakura was born on March 24, 1932. He was the son of Junji Kumajura. He served in the 180th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division, as a Private and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.
Pvt Kumakura was Killed in Action on June 9, 1952, in North Korea. His remains were not recovered. He is now buried in the Kauai Veterans Cemetery, Hanapepe, Kauai County, Hawaii, USA.
