Susumu Kurosawa was born on October 29, 1928. He was the son of Sakichi Kurosawa and E.N. Kurosawa. He served in the 21st Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

PFC Kurosawa was Killed in Action on July 12, 1950, near Chochiwon, South Korea. He is now buried in the Maui Veterans Cemetery, Makawao, Maui County, Hawaii, USA.
