Shoso Kuwahara was born on December 22, 1927, in Los Angeles County, California. He was the son of Nabutaro Kuwaharai. He served in Company E, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a Private First Class and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

PFC Kuwahara was Killed in Action on October 16, 1951, in North Korea. He is now buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, USA.
