Jun Matsushige was born on November 24, 1931. He served in the 223rd Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division, as a Corporal and Light Weapons Assault Crewman during the Korean War.
Cpl Matsushige was seriously wounded in action by enemy missile fire in North Korea and died of his wounds on November 13, 1952. He is now buried in the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1, Hilo, Hawaii County, Hawaii, USA.
