Jimmie Mayemura was born on June 28, 1929, in Los Angeles County, California. He served in the 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, as a Sergeant and Light Weapons Assault Crewman during the Korean War.

Sgt Mayemura was seriously wounded in action by enemy missile fire in North Korea and died of his wounds on November 4, 1951. He is now buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, USA.
