Roy Tatsuo Nakashima was born on April 11, 1928, in Honolulu County, Hawaii. He was the son of Senichi Nakashima. He served in Battery B, 555th Field Artillery Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a First Lieutenant during the Korean War.

1Lt Nakashima was Killed in Action on April 22, 1951, in Ukkalgye, North Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
