Richard K. Nishida was born on November 11, 1909. He served in the 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class during the Korean War.

PFC Nishida was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on September 11, 1950, and returned to duty on November 22, 1950. He was killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on January 30, 1951. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
