Neil Norio Ogasawara was born on November 22, 1930, in Honolulu County, Hawaii. He was the son of Mantoku Ogasawara and Teruyo Shibata Ogasawara. He served in the 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division, as a Private and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

Pvt Ogasawara was Killed in Action on September 30, 1952, in North Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
