Hisao Okimoto was born on December 2, 1928. He was the son of Jinzuchi Okimoto. He served in the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, as a Private First Class and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

PFC Okimoto was Killed in Action on October 6, 1951, in North Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
