Thomas Nobuto Otaguro was born on September 18, 1928, in Puunene, Maui County, Hawaii. He was the son of Kimie Otaguro and Kiyoto Otaguro. He served in Company G, 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a Corporal and Clerk General during the Korean War.

Cpl Otaguro was Killed in Action on August 13, 1950, at the Pusan Perimeter near Pongam-ni, South Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
