Masaya Saito was born on December 14, 1917. He served in Company D, 1st Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, as a Private First Class and Heavy Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

PFC Saito died from his wounds received in battle on August 22, 1950, during the Battle of Pusan in South Korea. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
