George Kaoru Takahashi was born on June 10, 1922. He served in the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, as a Sergeant First Class and Infantry Intelligence and Reconnaissance Chief during the Korean War.

SFC Takahashi was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on September 3, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
