Nobuyuki Takeshita was born on August 18, 1926. He was the son of Mitsuo Takeshita and Neju Takeshita. He served in Company I, 3rd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a Private First Class and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

PFC Takeshita was Killed in Action on July 22, 1951, near Cham-ni, North Korea. He is now buried in the Maui Veterans Cemetery, Makawao, Maui County, Hawaii, USA.
