Alfred Seichi Uyehara was born on April 2, 1926, in Honolulu County, Hawaii. He was the son of Tama Uyehara. He served in Company K, 3rd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regimental Combat Team, as a Sergeant and Light Weapons Infantryman during the Korean War.

Sgt Uyhara was seriously wounded by the enemy near Waegwan, South Korea, on September 19, 1950, and returned to duty on September 28, 1950. He was listed as Missing in Action while fighting the enemy near Nan Myon, North Korea, on November 28, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial. He also has a cenotaph in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.
