Ruben Reyes Catuira was among the thousands of Filipinos who served in the United States Navy, contributing to the enduring legacy of Filipino naval service. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1974, served for 25 years, and retired with the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. Following his naval career, he continued his public service with 22 years at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and three years with the U.S. Department of Defense.
