Technical Sergeant Harold Eames, radio operator of the B-17 Fortress “Channel Express III” N 42-40050 (possibly 42-37835), took off at 0515 from Station 128 Deenethorpe (UK) on a bombing mission to Bordeaux. He was shot down by a German fighter from Cognac at 0905. Only three of his comrades were able to jump.
