Joe Boothe was born May 29th, 1919 to Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Boothe, at Liberty, Texas. He was educated at the Hull-Daisetta High School and entered the Army on February 28, 1941. He volunteered for the Paratroops in December 1942, and received his wings in Feb. 1943. He land in North Africa with the 82nd Division in May and his Paratroops were the first over Sicily. He died from wounds received on July 11, 1943. He is now buried in the Oak Dale Cemetery, Daisetta, Liberty County, Texas, USA.
