Robert Dudley Taylor was born on July 9, 1923 in Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky. He served in the 94th Fighter Squadron, 1st Fighter Group, 15th Air Force as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. 2Lt Taylor was Killed In Action over France while piloting P-38J Lightning #43-28265 from Corsica on a fighter-escort and dive bombing mission. The plane crashed at Lus La Croix Haute, France when hit by an anti-aircraft artillery, while strafing on Aug 16, 1944. He is now buried in the Winchester Cemetery, Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky, USA.
