2nd Lt Lloyc C. Weins was at the controls of the P-38 Lightning 42-67986 when he took off from Station 406 in Andover on a mission to bomb the train station of Limours. After successfully completing their mission, the fighters were caught in an aerial battle from 1915 to 1928 hours in which Lt Weins was shot down.
