2nd Lt Daniel Mungen Haley took off from Aghiona, Corse in his P-38 Lightning 44-23205 on an armed reconnaissance over Montpellier and Toulouse. He was hit by flak at 2015 but bailed out too low to the ground for his parachute to open, smashing him into the wall where his plaque now stands.
