1st Lt Warren E. McMurray, pilot of the B-17 42-31387, took off from station 109 in Podington, Bedfordshire, UK on a bombing mission over Frankfurt. The plane was shot down by Fw-190s and evacuated around 1040. Either the entire crew was not able to bail out or they did so at too low an altitude for their parachutes to open.
