SSgt Wilson Murray Brockman, left waist gunner of the B-24 42-95390 “Rough Buddy”, was on a bombing mission over Heilbronn when it was hit by flak at 1038, eventually exploding the plane with its cargo of incendiary bombs. Only the belly gunner survived to be later captured.
