When Virgil E. Curran was born on January 10, 1924, in Missouri, his father, Charles, was 24 and his mother, Ardella, was 18. He had two sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private First Class in the 143rd Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division. He entered service in Missouri. He died on August 29, 1944 during the invasion of southern France. He is now buried at Watts Cemetery, Pulaski County, Missouri, USA.
