Born in Clifton, Kansas, July 1921 and graduated from Ottawa rHigh School, Ottawa, Kansas 1940. After graduation he enlisted in U.S. Navy on 18 June 1940 and served aboard the USS Makassar Strait (CVE-91) in the attached squadron VC-97. Killed by the Japanese after being captured when his aircraft came down while flying a bombing mission over Ishigaki.
