Herber M. Huish was born on November 18, 1922, son of Alfred L. and Trinidad A. (Lopez). He had 1 brother and 2 sisters. He attended 4 years of high school and was single without dependents. 2nd Lt Heber M. Huish enlisted at Hondo Army Air Field, Texas on 2 November 1942.

On July 7, 1944, Lieutenant Huish was killed flying the P-51B after his plane crashed into the debris of a ME-410 that has just exploded in flight near Halle.

2nd Lt Heber M. Huish was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery Neuville-en-Condroz Block S, Row 12, Grave 296 and is now buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupré, Belgium.
