When Dalton J. Gregory was born on October 28, 1916, in Houma, Louisiana, his father, Joseph, was 20 and his mother, Angeline, was 20. He entered the service in Louisiana. He served in the U.S. Army during the Normandy Invasion of World War II as a Private First Class in Section 2 of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. He had one son with Eulah Marguerite Labat in 1946. He died on July 3, 1997, in Slidell, Louisiana, at the age of 80, and was buried in Garden of Memories, Metairie, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, USA.
