When Ottis Brayfield was born on July 14, 1892, in Illinois, his father, James, was 42 and his mother, Nancy, was 37. He had one daughter. He served in the U.S. Army during the World War I as a Corporal in M Company, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on November 07, 1918 and is now buried in Hinchcliffe Cemetery, Williamson County, Illinois, USA.
