                            When Charles Luther Yost was born on February 26, 1923, in Pennsylvania, his father, Paul, was 23 and his mother, Mary, was 20. He had three brothers and four sisters. He enlisted in the Army on January 7, 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Technician Fourth Grade in the 18th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron (Mechanized). He was the radio operator of the M-8 tank and had been ambushed in Poteau, Belgium. He died on December 18, 1944 and is now buried in White Deer Church, R. D. Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA.
