James A. Anderson was born on May 21, 1888. He had been in service five years when war was declared, having been stationed alternately at Ft. Sheridan, Panama, Ft. Jay, and , also, served on the Mexican Border. He embarked for overseas with the 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on May 28, 1918 and is now buried in Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Garfield, Emanuel County, Georgia, USA.
