Charles A. Doan was born on September 10, 1895 at Belingham, Wash. He entered the service at Camp Lewis, Wash. on October 3, 1917 and served at Sommerville, Ansauville and Montdidier sectors. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company D, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on May 27, 1918 and is now buried in Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France.
