When Johney B. Eaves was born on March 12, 1896, in Buchanan, Georgia, his father, Joseph, was 33 and his mother, Sarah, was 30. He had two brothers and four sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Machine Gun Company, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on May 28, 1918 and is now buried in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery, Haralson County, Georgia, USA.
