When Wesley Freml was born on February 9, 1880, his father, Wesley, was 31 and his mother, Katherine, was 25. He had four brothers and six sisters. He was married to Katherine Robbins on May 3, 1915. He entered the military service in Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a First Lieutenant in Company D, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on June 29, 1918 and is now buried in Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France.
