Myrel Mullis was born on May 3, 1900, in Koleen, Indiana, the son of Vira and Ezra. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company B, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on June 2, 1918 and is now buried in Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France. His name is inscribed on the Cantigny monument as PVT M MULLES.
