Oscar F. Paxton was born on August 13, 1896. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company D, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on June 15, 1918 and is now buried in Redwood Baptist Church Cemetery, Slaughter, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana, USA. His name is inscribed on the Cantigny monument under Company B of 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division.
