When Oscar H. Pflasterer was born on October 13, 1900, his father, Henry, was 26 and his mother, Elizabeth, was 23. He had one sister. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in the 6th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Division. He was Killed in Action on April 27, 1918 and is now buried in Friedens Cemetery Mausoleum and Chapel, Bellefontaine Neighbors, St. Louis County, Missouri, USA. His name is inscribed on the Cantigny monument as PFC O PLASTERER under Battery C of his unit.
