When Charles Poulter was born in June 1893, his father, William, was 37 and his mother, Mary, was 26. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Company H, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on May 19, 1918 and is now buried in Cave Hill National Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, USA.
