Domenico “Dom” Togniotti was born on May 11, 1891 in Italy. He entered the military service in Elko, Nevada in 1918. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company G, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action in 1918 and is now buried in Elko Catholic Cemetery, Elko, Elko County, Nevada, USA. His name is inscribed on the Cantigny monument as PVT D TOGNIOPPI in the 16th Infantry Regiment.
