Victor J. Tuttle was born on November 21, 1891. He entered the military service in Maine on March 19, 1916. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in HQ Company, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was sent overseas on June 12, 1917 as Private First Class and was Killed in Action at Cantigny on May 28, 1918. He was declared "Missing in Action" and is commemorated on Tablets of the Missing, Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France. He also has a marker in Riverside Cemetery, Newport, Maine, USA.
