When Alvin Larue Vincent was born on December 1, 1895, in Sullivan, Wisconsin, his father, John, was 33 and his mother, Julia, was 29. He had three brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Machine Gun Company, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on May 28, 1918 and is now buried in Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France.
