Pvt John W. Vogel was born on October 27, 1897. He is the son of John F. and Savannah Vogel. He enlisted in the Army on February 24, 1917 at Indiana. He was assigned to Company M, 35th Infantry and was transferred to HQ Company, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 9, 1918 and is now buried in Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France.
