Wilbur C. Ward was born on May 17, 1891 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. At the outbreak of WWI he was working at a brewery in Glendive, Montana. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company D, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died on May 29, 1918 and is now buried in Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France. He also has a marker in Dawson County Cemetery, Glendive, Dawson County, Montana, USA.
