Nicholas Weber is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weber. He was employed at the Eagle Cotton Mills at the age of 18. He was a bright and energetic young man and was well liked by those who knew him. He enlisted in the Army on March 28, 1917, under Sergt. Wm. Thompson, and was attached to Company A, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He sailed from New York to France on June 9, 1917. He was declared "Missing in Action" on June 14, 1918 and is commemorated on Tablets of the Missing, Somme American Cemetery, Bony, France.
