When Homer Owen Tiffany was born on December 27, 1894, in Allen, Kentucky, his father, Walter, was 48 and his mother, Selina, was 42. He had three brothers and three sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Sergeant in Company B, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division.
