He was declared "Missing in Action" on July 18, 1918 and is commemorated on Tablets of the Missing, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Belleau, France. A cenotaph made for him is located at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland, USA.
