When Edwin Oral Parker was born on December 23, 1895, in Indiana, his father, Robert, was 27 and his mother, Rachel, was 20. He had three brothers and three sisters. He was a farmer before enlisting. He entered the service on October 16, 1917 in Bloomington, IN. He was sent to Camp Taylor, KY then transferred to Camp Shelby, MS. He went overseas on June 11, 1918 and was assigned to Company E, 16th Infantry, 1st Division. He died of wounds received in action at Soissons Sector on July 18, 1918. He is now buried in Dishman Cemetery, Hobbieville, Greene County, Indiana, USA.
