When Aubrey William Woolsey was born on May 26, 1890, in Camden, Missouri, his father, William, was 38 and his mother, Margaret, was 30. He had four brothers and four sisters. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Company G, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action but declared "Missing" on July 20, 1918 and is memorialized on Tablets of the Missing, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, Belleau, France.
